Power up snack time for kids or adults by making your own powbab® Fruit Gummies with this incredibly simple yet delicious recipe. Great for using up leftover juice around the house or for a little snack after-school. Can be done with any type of fruit juice or substitution on ingredients based on your diet preferences.

Ingredients:
- 8 Tbsp gelatin powder
- 2 cups juice
- 1 Tbsp powbab® baobab superfruit powder
- 2 Tbsp honey (or to taste)

What to do:

1. Place juice in a small sauce pan.  Sprinkle gelatin into juice while stirring (this helps prevent clumping).  Gently heat until gelatin dissolved.

2. Remove from heat and stir in powbab® baobab superfruit powder and honey.  Pour into molds.  Place into refrigerator to set.

Notes:
- This makes a stiff gummy.
- This can also be poured into a baking dish and cut into cubes when set.
- Make variations with the juice of your choice.  You may also use fresh fruit purees.

powbab® Oatmeal

Serves 1

Oatmeal is great in the morning, especially when you need the power boost to start your day. Add our powbab® organic baobab superfruit powder along with fruits and seeds to get your energy breakfast made for champions.

 

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of oatmeal

Water

Milk (pasture-fed is best, or use a substitute such as almond milk, soy milk, etc.)

 

Mix-ins:

2 teaspoons of powbab® organic baobab superfruit powder

Handful of raspberries and/or blueberries (frozen if fresh not available)

½ tablespoon cranberries

½ teaspoon of ground flax seed

½ teaspoon of ground almonds

½ teaspoon of ground black sesame seeds

 

What to do:

    1. Soak oatmeal in a little water for about 15 minutes (or less if you are running low on time).
    2. Add milk (or substitute) and cook on the stovetop.
    3. Cook oatmeal until gooey and thick. Watch it after the first few minutes because if you don't stir, it will burn.
    4. Stir in Mix-ins and add more milk if you like a more watery consistency.

       

      Benefits of oatmeal:

      1) Fiber.  And has lots of soluble fiber, beta-glucan.  Great for your bowel movements - need we say more? J 

      2) Beta-glucans turbocharge your body's immune system response to bacterial infection.

      3) Very modest impact on blood sugar. 

      4) Super high protein content compared to any popular cereal: 8 1/2 g of protein in 2/3 cup of oats

      powbab® Festive Baobab Limeade Spritzer

      Serves about 8

      Our powbab® limeade spritzer recipe adds superfood to your cocktail. Easy to make and delicious to taste with a special baobab tang that pairs well with appetizers or a sit down meal. Great for parties, holidays, or everyday with family and friends.

       

      Ingredients:

      3 cups pomegranate or cranberry juice, sweetened (chilled)

      1/2 pack of 0.8 oz powbab® organic baobab superfruit powder

      3 cups club soda (chilled)

      1 cup fresh lime juice (plus lime wedges for garnish)

      2 cups vodka (optional)

      ¼ cup sugar or natural sweetener to taste (optional)

      Serve on frozen cranberries

       

      What to do:

      Combine pomegranate/cranberry juice, powbab® baobab together, and lime juice and optional vodka. Mix. Add sugar or natural sweetener as necessary.

      Fill glasses with cranberries frozen in ice cubes, and serve. Garnish with lime slices if desired.

      powbab® Baobab Apple Pie

      One pie serves about 8-10 people

      Our powbab® apple pie recipe is delicious for the pie lover and uses our convenient powbab® 0.8 oz pack of organic baobab powder.

       

      Ingredients:
      7-10 Fuji apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
      ½ pack of 0.8 oz powbab® organic baobab superfruit powder
      1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
      ¼ cup sugar (or honey or other natural sweetner)
      juice of ½ a lemon
      1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
      1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
      Pinch ground cloves
      1 large egg, beaten

      Pie Dough recipe:
      2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
      1/2 cup (more as necessary) coconut oil, cool enough to be solid
      1 teaspoon salt
      1 tablespoon cane sugar
      1/3 - 1/2 cup ice water

       

      What to do:

      Dough directions:
      1.    Place the flour, salt, and sugar in the bowl of a food processor (or hand mix in a bowl and for rest of steps mix by hand), and process for a few seconds to combine. Add the coconut oil, and process until the mixture resembles coarse meal. With the machine processing, add the ice water in a slow, steady stream, through the feed tube, just until the dough holds together. Do not process for more than 30 seconds.
      2.    Take the dough out onto a work surface. Divide in two. Place each half on a sheet of plastic wrap. Flatten, and form two discs. Wrap, and refrigerate before using (15-40 minutes is good).


      Pie directions:
      1.    In a large bowl, combine apples, powbab® baobab, flour, sugar, lemon juice, and spices.  Toss well.
      2.    Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
      3.    On a lightly floured surface, roll out 1 Pie Dough disc into 1/8-inch-thick circle to a diameter slightly larger than that of your pie plate. Press one pastry circle into the pie plate.
      4.    Spoon apples into pie pan.
      5.    Roll out second Pie Dough disc into 1/8-inch-thick circle to a diameter slightly larger than that of your pie plate. Cover pie pan with remaining pastry circle. Cut several steam vents across top. Seal by crimping edges. Brush with beaten egg.
      6.    Bake until crust is brown and juices are bubbling, about 1 hour. Let cool on wire rack before serving.

      powbab® Bread Recipe

      1/2 pound loaf, serves 5

      Our powbab® bread made with baobab could feed the masses, leaving hunger behind while providing superfood power and fiber in every bite. Slightly tangy, powbab® baobab bread is our version of instant sourdough bread (without the waiting for things to go sour :) ). The natural fiber is good for digestion and for weight management. Easy to make recipe with powbab® packs of organic baobab powder.

       

      Ingredients:

      1¾ cups bread flour

      1 pack of 0.8 oz powbab® organic baobab superfruit powder

      2/3 cup whole milk (pasture-fed is best)

      1 egg

      2 teaspoons butter (pasture-fed is best)

      4 teaspoons sugar

      ½ teaspoon salt

      1 teaspoon yeast

       

      What to do:

      Combine all the ingredients in bread machine. Follow bread machine directions.

      Making by hand:

      1)      Dissolve yeast in warm water (use about ¼ cup of water). Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes to rise (will create small bubbles)

      2)      Warm the milk just slightly. Combine other ingredients, mix around, then add in yeast. Knead the dough. Gets a little sticky.

      3)      Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about an hour).

      4)      Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.
